Biography Jean- Luc Picard was born in LaBarre, France in 2305. His parents were Maurice and Yvette Hessard Picard. His father was a French vintner. His father also disagreed with Picard for wanting to enter Starfleet Academy. He took and failed the Starfleet Academy entrance exam in 2322. He retook it the next year and passed. He was the only freshman to win the Starfleet Academy marathon on Danula II. He graduated in 2327. He had to receive an artificial heart after picking a fight with three Nausicaans. He took command of the U.S.S. Stargazer when the captain was killed. After that, he was offered command of the ship. He commanded the ship for 20 years until it was destroyed. He was court-martialed but was found innocent. He was appointed the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise-D in 2363. He command the ship until it was destroyed on Veridian III. He met Captain James T. Kirk and together they stopped Dr. Tolian Soran from destroying the Veridian System. He assumed command of the Enterprise-E in 2372. He disobeyed orders when a Borg ship threatened Earth's past the following year. In 2377, he discovered a plan the Federation was performing covertly by moving the Ba'ku off their homeworld so they could harvest rejuvenating properties located around the planet. In 2379, he learned the Romulans had made a clone of himself. He wanted to believe Shinzon could become better then he was, however, that was not to be.
