Biography

     Thomas Paris went to Starfleet Academy.  He majored in astrophysics.  His father was Admiral Owen Paris.

     He was involved in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of three fellow Starfleet officers.  He lied and denied responsibility for the accident.  He was forced out of Starfleet.

     He became a mercenary for the Maquis but was arrested by Federation authorities while on his first assignment.  He was imprisoned at the Federation Penal Settlement in New Zealand on Earth.

     He was released in 2371 at the request of Captain Kathryn Janeway.  He agreed to help her to locate the Maquis on the U.S.S. Voyager.  When the ship was lost in the Delta Quadrant, Janeway reinstated his Starfleet commission and was assigned as senior Conn Officer.

     In 2372, he became the first person to break the Warp 10 barrier.  He ended up transforming into an amphibious creature. Voyager's EMH was able to transform him back.

     In 2374, he took on additional duties in Voyager's sickbay.  He also became involved with B'Elanna Torres later that year. The two married in 2377 and had a daughter, Miral, in 2378.  He returned to the Alpha
