The Lethans are a telepath species. Their telepathic attacks almost always cause death. Lethans are usually hired by various criminal groups.
One Lethan, Altovar, would do this against Deep Space Nine Chief Medical Officer Julian Bashir. It would leave him in a coma. Altovar would be arrested for the attack.
