Ktaria VII is a planet in the Alpha Quadrant. The planet has not yet joined the Federation. The choose to remain neutral.
Ktarians are humanoid. Some of them have enlarged frontal lobes. Others have ridges that run down the center of their forehead and over the back of their head.
The children develop much faster then human children. Infants may grow up 5 centimeters in about three weeks time. Humans and Ktarians are able to reproduce and marriage between the two species is common.
Breast-feeding takes place upon birth. Human females are unable to breast-feed after three to four weeks because the child's teeth have grown in. Ktarian children grow up quickly. At age two, an infant may grow five centimeters in a three-week period.
They are open about their culture. They trust outsiders, even to their most sacred sites. The dead are buried with thousands of stones. It is forbidden to remove these stones.
Their cuisine had worked worked its way into many of the Federation’s races, Fried Ktarian eggs are very popular for breakfast. The Ktarian chocolate puff features 17 different chocolates. Beverages such as Ktarian beer and Ktarian Merlot were also enjoyed.
