The two races were was left over from a former intelligent race. They were from the planet Sigma Draconis VI. The Federation made first contact with the planet in 2268.
The civilization had been a technically advanced race that developed ion propulsion in space flight.
When the ice age approached, the people created an underground complex. It provided everything needed for survival. The “brain” could control the complex for up to 10,000 years.
The underground complex was home to the females. The males, however, continued to live on the surface. The temperature hardly ever reached above the freezing point.
As the millennia passed, the males became to be known as the Morgs and reverted to a stone-age existence. The Morgs wore simple tunics and boots from animal hides.
In the complex, the females lived there. They lived in comfort. They worshipped the central brain unit known as the Controller. It provided all their needs.
In the control room, a device called the Teacher was used when one needed knowledge. In 2268, an Eymorg Kara was instructed to locate a new brain. The brain from Spock from the U.S.S. Enterprise was taken from him. Dr. Leonard McCoy used the Teacher to put Spock’s brain back into his head.
Without Spock’s brain, the complex could no longer be controlled. The Eymorgs were forced to live on the surface with the Morgs and coexist with them.
