The Dopterians can be found throughout the Alpha Quadrant. They are distant relatives of the Ferengi. Their minds are four-lobed like Ferengi. Betazeds and other telepathic species are unable to read their minds.
They also share an unusual resembalence to the Kobheerian species. The appearences of the two species is nearly identical except their noses. The Dopterian noses look like Ferengi noses.
