Constellation Class Ships

History of the U.S.S. Stargazer

The U.S.S. Stargazer NCC-2893 was primarily a deep space exploration and defense ship.

The Stargazer like all other Constellation ships, the ship had four warp nacelles.

In 2333, Lieutenant Jean-Luc Picard took command of the ship after the captain was killed. In recognition of this, he was given command of the Stargazer for the next 22 years.

The Stargazer came under attack in the Maxa Zeta system. An unidentified ship, later learned to be Ferengi, opened fire on the Stargazer. Picard used the “Picard Maneuver” and destroyed the unidentified vessel. The crew had to abandon the Stargazer.

The ship was later returned to Starfleet by DaiMon Bok, the father of the Ferengi ship’s captain. Bok tried to get revenge on Picard using the Stargazer. The Stargazer was towed back to Xendi Starbase Nine.

The Constellation Class Ships were designed to supplement Starfleet’s line of ships. Constellation Class Ships could travel faster then other classes of ships Starfleet had been using.

The ships were first commissioned in the late 2200s. All Constellation ships were fitted with four warp nacelles. This allowed the ship to travel faster. Two nacelles were mounted on a pylon above the saucer. The other two hung below the saucer.

The ships did not have a secondary hull. The warp drive was installed horizontally. The ships could reach a maximum of Warp 9 for approximately 12 hours.

The ships carried standard weapons including phasers and photon torpedoes.
