Patrick Stewart

     Sir Patrick Stewart, bornJuly 13, 1940, in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England, is an English actor known for his roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the X-Men film series. His career spans over seven decades, earning him numerous accolades, including two Olivier Awards, a Grammy Award, and a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2010.

     Stewart developed an early passion for acting, joining local drama groups at age 12. He left school at 15 to work as a junior reporter, but his love for theater led him to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His professional debut came in 1959, followed by a long association with the Royal Shakespeare Company beginning in 1966.

     His television career started with roles in Coronation Street (1967), Fall of Eagles (1974), and I, Claudius (1976). He gained international fame as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994), reprising the role in multiple films and Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023). He also starred as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films from 2000 to 2017, later reprising the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

     Beyond Star Trek and X-Men, Stewart has appeared in Moby Dick (1998), A Christmas Carol (1999), The Lion in Winter (2003), and Blunt Talk (2015–2016). He has voiced characters in American Dad! (2005–present), The Prince of Egypt (1998), and Gnomeo & Juliet (2011).

     Stewart has been married three times, to Sheila Falconer (1966–1990), Wendy Neuss (2000–2003), and Sunny Ozell (2013–present). He has two children, Daniel and Sophie Stewart.
