Orla Brady, born March 28, 1961, in Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish actress known
for her work in television, film, and theater. She has appeared in Star Trek:
Picard, Into the Badlands, Mistresses, and Bosch: Legacy.
Brady grew up in Bray, County Wicklow, and studied at L'École Philippe Gaulier
and Marcel Marceau’s École Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris. She began her
career in theater, performing in Hamlet and Finnegans Wake before transitioning
to television.
Her television career includes
roles in Family Law, Nip/Tuck, Shark, Wallander, Fringe, and Strike Back. She
starred in Star Trek: Picard (2022) as Laris, a Romulan housekeeper and
confidante to Jean-Luc Picard.
Brady has also
appeared in films such as The Foreigner (2017), Rose Plays Julie (2019), and The
Price of Desire (2015). She has received seven Irish Film and Television Award
nominations and a Saturn Award nomination. She has been married to Nick Brandt,
a British photographer, since 2002, and they live in Southern California.
