 Michael Dorn, born December 9, 1952, in Luling, Texas, is an American actor best 
known for portraying Worf, the first Klingon main character in Star Trek. He has 
appeared in more Star Trek episodes than any other actor, spanning five films 
and 284 television episodes.

     Dorn grew up in 
Pasadena, California, where he studied radio and television production at 
Pasadena City College. He initially pursued a career in music, performing with 
rock bands before transitioning to acting. His first film role was in Rocky 
(1976), where he played Apollo Creed’s bodyguard. He later appeared in CHiPs 
(1979–1982) and Jagged Edge (1985) before landing his iconic Star Trek role.
     Dorn first appeared as Lieutenant Worf, the Klingon 
security officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D, in Star Trek: The Next Generation 
(1987–1994). His character became a fan favorite, leading to his inclusion in 
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1995–1999), where Worf served as strategic 
operations officer aboard Deep Space Nine and later became Chancellor of the 
Klingon Empire.
     Dorn reprised Worf in the four 
Next Geneation Star Trek films. He also played his ancestor in Star Trek VI: The 
Undiscovered Country (1991). He returned to Star Trek in Star Trek: Picard 
(2023), reprising Worf as a Starfleet intelligence officer.
     
Beyond Star Trek, Dorn has voiced characters in Gargoyles, I Am Weasel, Teenage 
Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mass Effect 2. He is also a pilot, owning several 
aircraft and advocating for aviation safety.
