 Marc Alaimo, born May 5, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is an American actor 
best known for portraying Gul Dukat, the Cardassian antagonist in Star Trek: 
Deep Space Nine. He has had a prolific career in television, film, and theater, 
often playing villains.

often playing villains.
     Alaimo began his acting 
journey in theater, performing with the Marquette University Players and the 
Milwaukee Repertory Theater in the 1960s. He later moved to New York, where he 
joined various theater companies and toured nationally. His stage roles included 
Iago in Othello, Rodolpho in A View From the Bridge, and Lucky in Waiting for 
Godot.
     His television career started in 1971, 
and he became known for playing antagonists in shows such as Kojak, Gunsmoke, 
Starsky & Hutch, Knight Rider, Hill Street Blues, and The A-Team. He also 
appeared in films like The Last Starfighter (1984), Tango & Cash (1989), and 
Total Recall (1990).
     Alaimo first entered the 
Star Trek universe in The Next Generation, playing Commander Tebok, the first 
Romulan seen in the series (The Neutral Zone, 1988), and Gul Macet, the first 
Cardassian (The Wounded, 1991). In 1993, he was cast as Gul Dukat, a recurring 
character in Deep Space Nine, appearing in 33 episodes. His portrayal of Dukat 
was widely praised for its complexity and depth.
     
Beyond Star Trek, Alaimo voiced Ray McCall in Call of Juarez (2006) and Call of 
Juarez: Bound in Blood (2009). He also voiced The Dean in Family Guy (2010). He 
has been married three times and has two children, including Michael Antony 
Alaimo, a television writer and producer.
