 John Billingsley, born on May 20, 1960, in Media,Pennsylvania, is an American 
actor best known for his role as Dr. Phlox in Star Trek: Enterprise. He has also 
appeared in The Man from Earth, Out of Time, and 2012.

Billingsley grew up in Weston, Connecticut, and later attended Bennington 
College, where he studied theater. After graduating in 1982, he moved to Seattle 
and co-founded the Book-It Repertory Theatre, which specialized in stage 
adaptations of literary works.
      His early 
television career included guest roles in Northern Exposure, The X-Files, and 
The West Wing. He gained recognition for playing Professor Miles Ballard in The 
Others before landing his breakout role as Dr. Phlox, the eccentric Denobulan 
physician aboard the Enterprise NX-01, in Star Trek: Enterprise (2001–2005).
      Beyond Enterprise, Billingsley appeared in 
Cold Case, Six Feet Under, Prison Break, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He 
also played Terrence Steadman in Prison Break and had recurring roles in The 
Nine and True Blood. His film credits include Just Ask My Children (2001), 
Breathing Hard (2000), and The Man from Earth (2007).
      
Billingsley is married to actress Bonita Friedericy, and they have collaborated 
on several projects. He continues to act in television, film, and theater while 
engaging with fans at Star Trek conventions.
