Eugene Cordero

    Eugene Cordero was born on July 18, 1978, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in the northern suburbs of Detroit and attended Brother Rice High School, graduating in 1996. He later moved to New York City to study at Marymount Manhattan College. Cordero began his career in improv, performing with Chicago City Limits before taking classes at Upright Citizens Brigade.

     Cordero has built a career largely in comedy, appearing in television shows such as Drunk History, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He starred in Other Space (2015), Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ (2017–2019), and Tacoma FD (2019–2021). In 2021, he joined the cast of Loki, playing Casey, a TVA employee who was later revealed to be a variant of bank robber Frank Morris.

      In animation, Cordero voiced Jamie in Steven Universe and Sawyer D. in Bob’s Burgers. Since 2020, he has voiced Lieutenant Sam Rutherford in Star Trek: Lower Decks. His film credits include The Kings of Summer (2013), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and The Mule (2018).

     Cordero is of Filipino descent and lives in Los Angeles. He has been married to Tricia McAlpin since 2011, and they have two children.
