Dominic Keating

     Dominic Keating, born July 1, 1961, in Leicester, England, is a British actor known for his roles in television, film, and theater. He gained international recognition for portraying Lieutenant Malcolm Reed in Star Trek: Enterprise.

      Keating grew up in Leicester and attended Uppingham School, where he developed an interest in acting. He later earned a first-class honors degree in history from University College London. Before pursuing acting professionally, he worked various jobs and performed in a drag act called Feeling Mutual to obtain his Equity card.

     His early career was rooted in theater, where he originated roles such as Cosmo in The Pitchfork Disney and Bryan in Amongst the Barbarians, the latter earning playwright Michael Wall first prize in the Mobil Playwrighting Competition. He also performed in The Christian Brothers, Screamers, and Alfie in Los Angeles.

     Keating first gained attention in the UK with a recurring role as Tony in the Channel 4 sitcom Desmond's (1989–1994). His breakthrough came in 2001 when he was cast as Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, the tactical officer aboard the Enterprise NX-01 in Star Trek: Enterprise. His character was known for his dedication to security and his reserved personality.

     Beyond Enterprise, Keating appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes, Prison Break, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also voiced characters in video games, including Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and Destiny 2: Lightfall. His film credits include Beowulf (2007), Hollywood Sign (2001), and Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008).
