 
     
Daveed Diggs is an American actor, rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer born 
on January 24, 1982, in Oakland, California, USA. He is best known for 
originating the dual roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the 
Broadway musical Hamilton, which earned him a Tony Award and a Grammy Award in 
2016.
     He is the lead vocalist of the 
experimental hip-hop group Clipping, and has also been involved in other music 
projects like Freestyle Love Supreme. In film and television, Diggs has starred 
in Blindspotting (2018), Wonder (2017), Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), and The Little 
Mermaid (2023). He co-created and produced the TV adaptation of Blindspotting 
(2021–2023) and played Andre Layton in Snowpiercer (2020–2024).
     
Diggs has also done extensive voice work, portraying Commander Tysess in Star 
Trek: Prodigy, Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Rat King in Moon Girl and Devil 
Dinosaur, and Theo in Invincible.
