Chris Pine

     Chris Pine, born August 26, 1980, in Los Angeles, California, is an American actor best known for portraying Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot films and Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).

     Pine comes from a family of actors, his father, Robert Pine, starred in CHiPs, and his mother, Gwynne Gilford, was an actress before becoming a psychotherapist. His maternal grandmother, Anne Gwynne, was a Hollywood actress known for her work in horror films.

     He attended Oakwood School in the San Fernando Valley before earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. During college, he studied abroad at the University of Leeds in the UK and later trained at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

      Pine made his television debut in 2003, appearing in ER, The Guardian, and CSI: Miami. His breakthrough came in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), followed by Just My Luck (2006). He gained widespread recognition when he was cast as James T. Kirk in Star Trek (2009), reprising the role in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond (2016).

     Beyond Star Trek, Pine starred in Unstoppable (2010), Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014), Hell or High Water (2016), Outlaw King (2018), and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023). He made his directorial debut with Poolman (2023).
