Chase Masterson

     Chase Masterson, born Christianne Carafano on February 26, 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an American actress, singer, and producer best known for portraying Leeta, the Bajoran Dabo girl, in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She has also appeared in General Hospital, Sliders, and ER, and has voiced characters in several animated films.

Masterson grew up in various locations due to her father’s military career, including West Haven, Connecticut, and Germany, before settling in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).
Her first major role came in 1994 as Ivy Lief on General Hospital. She then spent five years on Deep Space Nine (1995–1999), becoming a fan favorite. She later starred in Yesterday Was a Lie, which she also produced, and voiced Janice Em in Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.

Beyond acting, Masterson is a jazz singer, releasing albums such as Yesterday Was a Lie (2011) and Burned With Desire (2012). She has hosted Sci-Fi Entertainment and an internet radio talk show.

In 2013, she co-founded the Pop Culture Hero Coalition, an organization that speaks out against bullying, racism, misogyny, and homophobia. She continues to act, sing, and advocate for social causes.
