 Casey Biggs, born April 4, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, is an American actor best 
known for portraying Damar, the Cardassian military officer turned leader, in 
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. His career spans over 80 film, television, and 
stage productions.

known for portraying Damar, the Cardassian military officer turned leader, in 
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. His career spans over 80 film, television, and 
stage productions.
				     Biggs was a foster child and decided to pursue acting 
while attending Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1973. He later 
earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Juilliard in 1977 and studied acting 
at the *Toledo Repertory Theatre.
     His early 
career included roles in Ryan’s Hope (1988–1989), General Hospital (1990), and 
Stat (1991). In 1996, he was cast as Damar, initially a minor character in Deep 
Space Nine, but later becoming leader of the Cardassian Union. His character 
played a pivotal role in the Dominion War, making him one of the most 
significant figures in the series. He later returned to Star Trek in Enterprise 
(Damage, 2004) as an Illyrian captain.
     Beyond 
Star Trek, Biggs appeared in The Pelican Brief (1993), Broken Arrow (1996), 
Dragonfly (2002), and Trekkies 2 (2004). He has made guest appearances in CSI: 
Miami, Person of Interest, Crossing Jordan, and ER. In 2017, he taught acting 
and directing at *The New School for Drama.
     
Biggs was married to Roxann Dawson (1985–1987), who later played B’Elanna Torres 
in Star Trek: Voyager. He later married Brigit Binns in 2004, and they own a 
culinary training center in California.
