Bolians

     The Bolians are a humanoid species native to the planet Bolarus IX.  They were a member of the Federation.

     While their appearance was humanoid, they had a ridge that ran long their heads.  They were blue or gray in color.  The men were totally bald while the females sometimes had hair.  It was known that sometimes they would wear hair pieces.

     Bolian blood was blue in color when removed from the body.  Vulcan blood was incompatible with Bolians.  The Bolian would die if Vulcan blood was given during a transfusion.  Intimate relations between Bolians and Humans would cause Humans to become ill with such symptoms as fatigue, nausea, and joint inflammation.

     The Bolians made first contact with Earth during the 21st century.  By the 24th century, the Bolians were a member of the Federation.  Several Bolians were serving in Starfleet.

     The Bank of Bolians was the primary financial institute of the Bolians and many other species.  Changed in the Bolian currency played an important part on other species monies.
