Bandi

     The Bandi are a humanoid race from the planet Daneb IV.  They are generally tall and slender and have straight gray hair.

     They appear to be older then they actually are.  This could be from the harsh and somewhat inhospitable environment of Deneb IV.

     Many Bandi are merchants where they can sell or trade local goods.  They appear to be uninterested in developing or acquiring warp technology.

     They dress modestly.  Their clothing is usually of densely woven fabric that covers their arms and legs.

      In the 2360s, the Bandi applied to join the Federation.  They claimed that they had built a large and advanced starbase.  They named it Farpoint Station.  They offered to allow the Federation to use it.

     Starfleet did not believe that the Bandi could build such a starbase.  Starfleet sent the U.S.S. Enterprise-D to investigate it.   Many of the materials of Farpoint Station were not even found on Deneb IV.

     It turned out Farpoint Station was actually an alien.  This information came to be known when another alien of the same life form.  The Bandi had been feeding it geothemal energy to keep it alive but not leave.  The Bandi had actually enslaved the life form.  The two life forms left together.  After this, Captain Jean-Luc Picard began negotiations with the Bandi to build a new station.
