Bajoran culture began over 25,000 years ago.  Its history featured many artists, architects, and builders.

Bajor was an isolated planet away from trade routes.  However, that changed when the Cardassians showed up in 2328.

Between 2339 to 2369, over 10 million Bajorans had been killed by Cardassian forces.  The Bajoran formed rebel fighters and were finally able to get the Cardassians to leave.

The Bajorans had constructed a base for the Cardassians, Terok Nor.  The Bajorans turned to Starfleet for help commanding the base.  The base was renamed Deep Space Nine.

After the departure of the Cardassians, Benjamin Sisko found a stable wormhole, which led to the Gamma Quadrant.  In the Bajoran religion, the one who finds the Celestial Temple, home of the Prophets is the Emissary.  In the Bajoran religion, the Prophets are spiritual entities who provide wisdom and guidance to the Bajoran people.

The Bajoran government is called the Bajoran Provisional Government.  Its leader is called the First Minister.  The spiritual leader is called the Kai.

The Bajorans tried to enter the Federation during the Dominion War, however their Emissary told them not to cause of the war.
